Williams County Schools Compete In Elementary Quiz Bowl

The Williams County Elementary Quiz Bowl was held last week at Bryan Elementary School for students in fifth and sixth grades. The quiz bowl is a double-elimination tournament in which nine teams from Williams County schools competed.

Teams included students from Bryan (Jamie Morris – Coach, Nolan Manahan, Colton Rogers, Sarah Kendrick, Israel Gonzales, Jaxson Mills, Bennett Schafer); Edon Northwest (Amanda Dickmann – Coach, Aubree Adams, Hannah Disbro, Oliver Stark, Emilan Camper, Molly Disbro, Claire Hamman); Edgerton (Wendy Rice – Coach, Syler Goebel, Remington Kennell, Chloe Steele, Skyler Abraham, Noah Burkhart, Lukas Wilhelm); Millcreek-West Unity (Dan Hurd – Coach, David Drewes, Evelyn Pike, Kaiden Gubbins, Cole Gerig, Brett Neely, Tanier Sabins); Montpelier (Barb Turner – Coach, Aidan Hannaford, Emily Kannel, Maggie Oates, Lily Moore, Elli Fitzcharles, Kane Parrott); North Central (Abbie Apple – Coach, Isabell Birdsall, Leandra Miller, Hunter Wright, Quinn Fellers, Randi Johnson, Emmi Burt); Stryker (Emily Rodriguez – Coach, Kelly Batterson, Quinn Froelich, Gunnar Short, Aubree Munson, Allicia Frazee, Gracen Hone) St. Mary (Betsy Hug – Coach, Stella Siebenaler, Ethan Cape, Cataleya Perez, Kelvin Ault, Frankie Juhasz, Josie Juhasz); St. Patrick (Jane Shaffer – Coach, Michelle Leitch – Coach, Jenna Sims, Lillian Rockey, Carson Henricks, Will Brightman, Ava Faulhaber, Wyatt Lauro.


Bryan won the tournament in an extra round that was a nail-biter. After eight rounds, the final score was 7-6. Montpelier was runner-up.

The event was coordinated by Stacey Parrish, Education Consultant, from the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NwOESC). Moderators for the event were Kallie Gensler, Ashley Ensign, Jane Myers, and Mike Altman all consultants from the NwOESC.
