WAUSEON (April 24, 2025) – The Archbold Bluestreaks put on a dominant offensive performance against their league rival, the Wauseon Indians. The Indians took an early lead in the game, but the back half saw the Bluestreaks pour it on.
The first inning was quiet for the Bluestreaks, as the only player to reach base was Adi Kinsman, who was hit by a pitch.
On the other side, the Indians scored early, securing a run in the bottom of the first. Layla Martinez drilled a double to center, plating Aubrianna Everly, to take a 1-0 lead.
The second inning wasn’t much better for the Bluestreaks. Madi Bowers reached base on a single where she advanced to second on the throw.
This followed with Bowers getting picked off at second, followed by a pop out and ground out to end the inning.
The Indians built on their lead in the second, when Bella McGuire ripped a double to center, bringing home Addison Baldwin, extending the lead to 2-0.
The third inning finally saw the Bluestreaks’ offense come to life. The scoring started with Charlee Forward crossing home plate on a wild pitch.
Alanna Pedraza followed with an RBI single, plating Daylin Bosco. The Bluestreaks final run came from Kinsman, taking a 3-2 lead by the innings end.
Wauseon saw three up and three down in the third inning, while Archbold used the top of the fourth to extend their lead.
The scoring run started when Bosco reached base on a ground ball to short, bringing home Hannah Downing. Kinsman followed with a ground ball that she reached base on as well, securing another run.
Makena Thiel then blasted a ball to left, plating Bosco. Then, with the bases loaded, Klaire Kern was walked, bringing the Bluestreaks lead to 7-2. Wauseon then secured two straight outs, making it seem like they could stop this run.
Instead, the Bluestreak rally continued, as Tess Ames was walked with the bases loaded. Then Forward singled to third and reached base, bringing home Bowers.
The scoring ended with one final walk with the bases loaded, bringing the Bluestreak lead to 10-2 by the innings end.
The Indians followed with another three up and three down inning, with Archbold’s Thiel securing two Ks in the inning.
In the fifth, Archbold added another run when Thiel stole home, making it 11-2 after the top half of the inning.
Wauseon scored their final run of the game in the fifth, with Kylerr Bronson doubling to center, plating Breah Teal.
Archbold used the sixth inning to force a mercy rule, as they secured another two runs, to make the score 14-3 by the innings end.
Wauseon went three up and three down in the bottom of the sixth as well, unable to extend the game to the seventh inning.
