The Pioneer Records Commission met for a brief meeting on October 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Nicki Mittelstaedt, Roger Swank, Tom Thompson, and Ben Fiser were present for the meeting.

After the approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, the Committee reviewed record updates amongst themselves.

“It’s always good practice, maybe about once a year, to review things because we are always getting new stuff – new software and creating new records. Just trying to identify what those might be so we can get them on the schedule,” commented Thompson.

Fiser brought up the new Ohio Revised Code (ORC) cybersecurity policy that was set to start September 30, 2025.

This mandates local government to implement a basic cybersecurity program. Each corporation is allowed to design its own program to fit its specific needs.

He continues to commit himself to researching sample policies to find a basic guideline that Pioneer could use to format their own. Mittelstaedt noted sample policies that can be found on the Auditor’s website.

With no further business, the Records Committee adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
