The Village of Lyons marked the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade, which took place on Saturday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Parade participants gathered earlier in the evening at the Lyons Community Park, where the lineup began at 4:30 p.m. From there, the parade made its way through the village, traveling along Morenci Street in downtown Lyons.
Residents and visitors lined the street despite the winter temperatures, many arriving early to secure viewing spots along the route.
The parade featured a variety of entries decorated in holiday fashion, adding to the festive atmosphere throughout the village. The procession was led by the Honor Guard and the Evergreen Marching Band, whose music helped set the tone for the evening as the parade moved through downtown.
Santa Claus also made his traditional appearance, greeting children along the route and spreading holiday cheer to the crowd.
His arrival was met with excitement from families gathered along the street, particularly younger attendees eager for a glimpse.
The parade concluded at the Lyons Royalton Fire Department, where the celebration continued following the final entries. Community members were invited to stop in after the parade, continuing a long-standing tradition tied to the annual event.
The Lyons Christmas Parade remains a cherished seasonal tradition for the village, bringing together residents of all ages to celebrate the start of the Christmas season and enjoy an evening of community and holiday spirit.
