The Madison Township trustees were kept busy during their regular meeting on Monday, April 13, addressing issues caused by recent heavy rains on township and county roads.
With trustees Mark Schmucker and Terry Huffman in attendance, discussion centered around water backing up on several roads in the township.
Township resident Junior Dennison told the trustees there is a lot of water backing up on County Road N-30, just east of County Road 16.
Huffman said that he was pretty sure the tile had been cut off by the fiber optic lines that have been installed. He added that once it dries up, the road will be worked on.
Also, trustees learned there are “suck holes” on County Road 6-5, which is assumed to be broken tile.
Dennison also mentioned all the trash around Menards. He pointed out that during the recent rains there was a lot of trash floating and getting caught in the drains.
Trustees then signed a proposal for Ohio Plan Insurance in which there were no changes from last year.
Schmucker made a motion to approve resolutions 26-4-13 A & B allowing reallocation of funds within the general fund. The Kunkle-Madison Township Fire Department was reimbursed $454.62 for paint used on the old grass fire truck.
Trustees received an invoice from the fire department from Great Lakes Specialty for the purchase of fire gear. The fire department also received a donation from North Star BlueScope Steel of Delta to be used as needed.
Township residents were reminded of the Madison Township Cleanup Days on Friday and Saturday, April 24-25. Next meeting will be on Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
