HAVILAND — Wayne Trace (12-11) pitcher Brody Rosswurm painted a masterpiece on the mound as the Raiders’ hurler threw a no-hitter against Evergreen (11-10) in a 5-0 Division VI sectional final win.
The Vikings never got more than one man on base in an inning all day as Rosswurm scattered three walks and a hit batsman while striking out 10 Vikings.
Nolan Hudik matched Rosswurm through the first two innings, throwing shutout baseball before the Raiders scratched out a run in the third without a hit.
A walk, sacrifice bunt and a fly ball put the Raiders on top before they hit the Vikings with a four-spot in the fourth.
Tanner Laukhuf singled, went to second on a sacrifice and scored on Carter Clemens’ RBI single. Caden Sinn followed with a hit, then Jack Schoenauer singled to drive home the second run of the inning.
Sinn and Schoenauer both moved up on the throw to the plate trying to cut down Clemens, and a ground ball followed by a throwing error brought the final two Raider runs home.
Troy Manz shut down the Raiders the last two innings, but the Vikings had no answer for Rosswurm.
