Have you started making your Christmas cards yet? If not, you need to join the Delta Public Library for “Stamp a Stack of Christmas Cards”. There will be two classes, on Friday November 6 from 12:00 to 2:30 led by Anne Geis and another on Saturday, November 7 from 10:00 to 1:30 led by Karen Tuck. You will be making 18 cards (6 cards each of 3 different designs). Cost for the class is $25. Registration is required so please stop by the library or call 419-822-3110 to sign up.

The Teen and Tween Advisory Board (TAB) is scheduled to meet Wednesday, November 11 at 3:30. Please note the change of date. The meeting will also consist of a Thanksgiving Dinner so please remember to bring food to share with the other TAB members. Please call Megan at 419-822-3110 with any questions.

Stop by the library on Tuesday, November 13 between 10:00 and 5:00 to pick out a Christmas themed object to be made from the 3D printer – or get help in 3D printing a present for a loved one just in time for Christmas!

The Lego Club will be meeting on Saturday, November 14. Grades K-2 meet at 10:00 and Grades 3 and up at 11:00. The theme is tower building. Come join the fun at the tables in the front of the library and work to help build a tower which can reach the ceiling.

Children can listen to a story by calling the library at 419-822-5200. Put the phone on speaker phone and the whole family can listen, too. Upcoming titles include:
•November 9 – Jack Hannaford (An old soldier outwits two very gullible people)

•November 16 – Fire-Bringer (An Indian story of how mankind received fire)

•November 23 – Old Man Rabbit’s Thanksgiving Dinner (A rabbit provides dinner for all the hungry animals of the forest)

•November 30 – Molly Whuppie (Molly must steal a giant’s sword so her sister can marry a prince).

Storytime at the library continues on November 10 with “E is for Elephant”. Toddler tales begins Tuesday, November 17 and runs through December 8 at 10:30. These programs are a little bit shorter in length than regular storytime but children still enjoy a variety of stories, finger plays, puppet shows, and crafts. Registration is required.

Please remember if Delta are schools are closed due to bad weather, Toddler Tales will not be held. If schools are simply delayed, the activities will go ahead as scheduled.

The library is also please to announce the forthcoming installation of three new computers in the Children’s area. These will be safe computers (no internet access) that children will be able to use to play learning games and read interactive storybooks using ABC Mouse database. The library would like to thank the Friends of the Delta Public Library for their support with these educational workstations.

Please remember that the library will be closed on Thursday, November 19 for auction as well as on Wednesday and Thursday, November 25 and 26, in observance of Thanksgiving.
