Heidi Nafziger talked about how the money Relay raises funds programs and research to serve those in the public battling cancer, saying, “We need to keep growing people-wise, not just revenue-wise.”

The pre-meeting Relay total was $3,450, with an end of meeting total of $5,600.40. The overall goal for 2016 is $110,000, with the theme of “Giving cancer the boot!” A goal of 28 teams has been set, with 12 currently registered.

In business items discussed, it was noted that many of the old documents are in the process of being rewritten, so please advise if there are any suggestions for additions or deletions.

The challenge for January is team that has the most members register by the end of the month wins a pizza party during Relay. Please advise if there is a need to meet to drop off forms.

Work continues to “Pack the Track”. If 100 people register online between January 18 and 22, the Fulton County Relay could win a large inflatable arch.

Please advise if you or your team is discontinuing a long-standing or favorite fundraiser so we can see if another team would like to pick up that torch.

In other items pertaining to fundraising, there is a goal of 40 ACS Cancer Action Network (CAN) memberships. Ms. Nafziger will look into maybe doing a bulb fundraiser to tie into Mother’s Day. Don’t register for CAN online, as the Fulton County Relay doesn’t get credit.

Teams should start thinking about the number of t-shirts they need and make sure their number of registered members equals the number of shirts they order.

January 23 is Relay Night at the Toledo Walleye. The more participation these types of events have, the more inclined the Walleye and Mud Hens are to continue them
The long sleeved t-shirt fundraiser continues, with 100 percent of the money raised credited to its respective team. Ms. Nafziger will help to facilitate lots of fundraising opportunities this year

A two day Scrap for Relay will be held at Scrapbook Korner in Archbold on February 27, 9a-midnight and February 28, 9a-9p.
