Williams County Adds Three To Communications Dept.

Williams County Commissioners acceded to request hire three people to help reduce overtime at the Communications Department.

The three will be officers-in-training and be paid $9.46 per hour. If they complete their training satisfactorily they will become full-time officers.

The move will let the department deal with overtime concerns.

In other actions, the board:
-Approved the dropping of a petition seeking assistance with ditch 712 after the petitioner learned the cost would be greater than the benefit.

-Approved maintenance and painting to a 911 tower for $171,163.

-Awarded the bid for improvements to the EMS Building to Siebenaler Construction of Edon for $389,720.


-Awarded a project to work on Cummins Tile (Project 7-2016) to Hibbard Excavating of Fayette for $52,838.90. The project is in Madison Township.

-Approved the purchase of mower for the Engineer’s Office for $48,500 from Reitzel Bros., of Edon. The department will trade in another mower for $7,000 and 1997 Mack Trailer for $15,000 to bring the net cost down to $26,500.
