The Loft, a ministry of Youth For Christ, is once again humbled by the support and generosity of our community.
Several months ago, Michelle Russell of Savvy Thrift Avenue Consignment decided to make The Loft the beneficiary of Savvy Thrift Avenue’s 5th Annual ‘Girl’s Night Out’. About the same time, Sue Goebel was also pondering how to raise funds for The Loft with seed money from Thrivent Financial. These two ladies joined together and added to their team Patti Rosebrock, Jackie Holsopple and Eliot Nofziger from The Loft. What happened next was truly amazing. On April 14, over 100 ladies attended the Girl’s Night Out, sponsored by this group at the American Legion in Stryker. Valet parking was made available by the men of the American Legion and some volunteering husbands. Inside, the Ladies could grab a goodie bag and visit the twenty different vendors which were present to show off their treasures of apparel, jewelry, cosmetics, crafts and much more. The night included an unforgettable fashion show by Cato Fashion from Wauseon, as well as massages and nails done by Alternatives Salon to pamper the crowd. Door prizes were given throughout the night, and there was plenty of tasty food and refreshments donated by many community members.
The evening ended with a live auction featuring items donated by each vendor and some community businesses. Anything from massage certificates to tickets to a Cleveland Indians baseball game were up for auction! A big thank you to Kym Wyse, who was not only the auctioneer for the night, but was also volunteered to emcee the fashion show, and thus endured through long and arduous descriptions of ladies’ apparel!
At the close of the evening, after all of the tables and chairs were put away, the final count came to $3,198 dollars raised! These funds will be used to send kids to YFC Camp this summer, and to help meet the financial needs of The Loft. What an incredible blessing it is to have a community come together so that teens may hear the good news of Jesus Christ!
YFC and The Loft would like to extend a huge THANK-YOU to these ladies and to the ladies of our community that supported this event as we look forward to Ladies’ Night Out fundraising events in years to come!
