4-H Advisors, James and Paula Savage of Delta (Pike X-L 4-H Club) in Fulton County, were awarded the 4-H Community Service Award (for adults) and the Pike X-L 4-H Club was also awarded the 4-H Community Service Award (for a group). They were recognized at the Bob Evans Farms 4-H Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held in March, 2016 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This luncheon is part of an all-day 4-H volunteer education conference.

The Community Service Award recognizes adult and youth 4-H volunteers who have collaborated or cooperated with other community or 4-H groups, or undertaken community service projects or activities with their 4-H club or unit. This award is sponsored by Steve and Cindy Rasmussen of Columbus.

Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. In 2015, 289,298 individual youth participated in traditional 4-H clubs, camps and school enrichment programs, and in other group educational activities. Ohio has more than 16,000 active 4-H volunteers.
