Williams County residents won’t be paying a higher fee for new dog tags after the county board tabled the matter.
The commissioners will revisit the matter in a year. As it stands now the current fees are meeting expenses, Commissioner Lewis Hilkert said.
Board President Brian Davis said he was not favor of raising rates and said the board will revisit the issue next August.
In other actions, the board:
Named the following people to the county’s first Dangerous Wild Animal Team:
Steve Towns, Williams County Sheriff
Bruce Siders, Bryan Fire Chief
James Hicks, EMS
Dawn Baldwin, EMA
Joe Schlosser, CHWC
Lucas Bechtol, The Bryan Times
Lewis Hilkert, county board
Dr. Pete Brown, Buckeye Veterinary Hospital
Jim Watkins, Health Department
The board approved the hiring of a special prosecutor because the county prosecutor and the Bryan city attorney have actual conflict of interests or the appearance of a conflict.
The board approved legal counsel to represent the county auditor and Board of Revision in cases and complaints against real property valuations.
Approved a proclamation making Aug. 21 Junior Wyse Day. Wyse was a West Unity native who served in World War II and survived a Japanese POW camp after being captured in The Philippines. He died sooner than expected from his incarceration.
