Mary R. Pingaj (1921 – 2016)

mary-rita-pingajMary Rita Pingaj, age 95, of Lombard, IL, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Beacon Hill Hospice, Lombard, IL. She was born July 22, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Francis and Marie (Kane) McTighe. She married Walter Pingaj on October 9, 1943, in Cleveland and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1994.

Mary was a registered nurse, graduating from Notre Dame High School, Cleveland and St. Vincent’s Charity School of Nursing, Cleveland. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Lombard, IL. She enjoyed traveling, visiting her family, shopping, and playing cards, especially, Tripoli. Following her retirement, Mary and Walter moved from the Cleveland area, lived in Florida and following Walter’s death, Mary moved to Illinois.

Survivors include, children, Mary Jeanne Reinmann, of Carol Stream, IL. Thomas (Debbie) Pingaj, of Schaumburg, IL., Dorothy (Dan) Beck, of Stryker, OH., Patricia (Ken) Martell, of Wilmington, NC. 11 grandchildren, John Reinmann, Jim Reinmann, Joe Reinmann, Tracy Kneip, Dawn Rangel, Michael Pingaj, David Pingaj, Kelly Krupa, Katherine Beck, Kevin Beck, Kenny Martell. 12 Great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Francis and Charles McTighe, and a son-in-law, Robert Reinmann.


Funeral mass will be celebrated, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland Street, Bryan, Ohio. Father James Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker, Ohio. Friends may call 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral mass, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI of Four County, or the charity of donor’s preference.
