Paul Barnaby, Fayette Native and Fulton County Commissioner since January of 2001, received Senior Spotlight prestige. Paul and his wife, Ruth Ann, have two children and seven granddaughters. The Barnaby’s also inhabit Metamora. Paul is a Metamora High School and Ohio State University alumni. He has obtained many occupations before he was commissioner. Barnaby was a dairy farmer, fireman, and teacher.

Paul, alongside Dean Genter and Jack Graf, aided in the instalment of 31 tornado sirens in Fulton County.

As winter approaches, it brings bad weather over the holidays. Make sure there are shelf-stable meals available at your house in case the Senior Center would be closed due to inclement weather. Also, the meal deliverers appreciate when they have a clear path from their car to your door and would like to say thank you in advance for keeping their safety in mind. One Call Now will alert you what actions to take during level 2 and level 3 snow emergencies.

A special thanks is extended to Wauseon Middle School National Junior Honor Society and Joy Hutchinson for another year of their help at the Veterans Breakfast. Thank you, also, to the other volunteers who aided at the Veterans Breakfast; it was a huge success!

If you are a high school sports fan, many schools in the area offer passes to senior citizens. Contact your local school to find out about free admission or passes for athletic events.

On Tuesday, December 27, Val Edwards, Information and Referral Specialist, will be at Evergreen Library in Metamora. From 10 a.m. she will be offering a free lesson about Medicare and Social Security issues, insurance bills, completing applications, and more. Please make an appointment in advance for this appointment by contacting Val, by telephone, at 419-337-9299.
