FULTON COUNTY COMMON PLEAS
A Pettisville woman pled guilty and was sentenced on January 11, 2017 in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Rebecca Hopper, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of Heroin. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott Haselman, on or about April 13, 2016, Ms. Hopper possessed heroin. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Ms. Hopper to serve 6 months in prison, to be served consecutively with a prison term imposed from the Defiance County Court of Common Pleas. The Court ordered that Ms. Hopper pay any fees, court-appointed counsel fees, and all prosecution costs.
On January 13, 2017, a Fulton County Common Pleas Court jury found Michael Bachman, age 19, of Wauseon, OH, guilty of Trafficking in Marihuana, a felony of the fifth degree and Permitting Drug Abuse, a felony of the fifth degree. A Fulton County Grand Jury had previously indicted Mr. Bachman for the June 2016 offenses when he permitted his vehicle to be used to sell marihuana. The jury of eight men and four woman deliberated approximately two hours before returning their guilty verdicts. The case was prosecuted by Fulton County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Paul H. Kennedy, and Mr. Bachman was represented by Swanton attorney, Clay Gerbitz. Mr. Bachman’s bond was continued and a pre-sentence investigation and report was ordered by the Court. A sentencing date has not yet been set. Mr. Bachman could face 24 months in prison. This charge was the result of an investigation conducted by the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force.
