The county will advertise for requests for proposals for a guaranteed energy savings contract until 2 p.m. March 17 at the commissioners’ office 152 S. Fulton St., Wauseon.

The county wants to reduce energy consumption and consumption costs; replace equipment that has outlived its usefulness and guaranteed energy and operating savings.
The county intends to have a contract signed with the selected applicant by June.
Lawn Mowing bids
Fulton County will be accepting bids for mowing of county-owned properties. The bids must be delivered to the Commissioner office, 152 S. Fulton St, Wauseon, 2nd floor, by 4 p.m. March 27. Bids arriving late will be rejected.

Waterline agreement update
The county received a letter from the Village of Archbold regarding the cost-sharing agreement between it and the county for a water line on CR 22. The county agreed to pay 38.1 percent of the cost of the project which will be slightly more than $269,000.
Fulton County has made a deposit of $76,000 and the village has instituted a $4 monthly surcharge on customers served by the waterline. The surcharge began in April 2016 and so far, has brought in $11,312.61. At this rate the surcharge will end in May 2018.
Village Administrator Donna Dettling will provide another reconciliation in March 2018.
FAA payment made
The board approved an FAA reimbursement request No. 6 for the Fulton County Airport FAA FY2014 projects of $2,966.
Water tap waiver approved in Amboy Township
The board a request for water tap waiver for a retail building on a 1.5-acre parcel along U.S. 20 in Amboy Township. Franklin Land Associates is purchasing the land from the Heintschel family who owns a 54-acre tract.
The proposed development is a 7,500-square-foot retail store that will average 150 gallons per day. The parcel has an existing water line and fire hydrant along its road frontage.
Ditch repair paperwork deadline extended
The board approved an extension of the deadline to file survey, reports and schedules associated with Ditch Improvement 2122 filed by the Swancreek Township Trustees.
The new deadline is 10 a.m., Aug. 31.
Bids opened for Shafer ditch work
The board opened bids for work on Ditch 2127-Shafer. There were eight people in attendance.
With the engineer’s estimate for the work at $48,021.40, the following bids came in: $42,712.50 from Zenz Farms of Delta and $40,570 from Blausey Truck Service and Excavating from Elmore.
Engineer Rod Creager will review the bids and report back to the board.
Special election cost estimated
A special election in Fulton County Aug. 8 will cost an estimated $25,277, according to a document from the Board of Elections.
The Fulton County Commissioners reviewed the document at its Feb. 21 meeting. The bulk of the cost ($18,082) would be for compensation for election workers. The cost breaks down to 87 cents per registered voter.
Dog Warden reports
Fifteen dogs were handled by the Fulton County Dog Warden the week of Feb. 11.
Nine were strays and one was brought in. Of these, seven were returned to their owners and two were redeemed and two were euthanized. The office collected $40 for redemption, $40 for boarding, $110 for euthanizing and $120 for licenses.
The following week, the Dog Warden handled 18 animals and collected $655 in fees, $500 of which came from court fees. The office returned five dogs to their owners, rescued four and redeemed two and sold one.
4-H week coming up
The board also declared the week of March 5-11 as 4-H Week in Fulton County. The theme is “Discover Yourself in 4-H.”
There are more than 1,100 youth between the ages of 5 and 18 involved in 4-H in Fulton County. They are aided by more than 255 adult volunteers.
