The contract that will clear the way for the academic and athletic complex at Montpelier School is now on its way to the contractor.
The Montpelier Exempted Village Board of Education approved a resolution March 22 awarding the bid to Michael Kinder and Sons, Inc., for $3.22 million. The contractor has told Superintendent Jamie Grime he wants to get started as soon as possible.
The board meeting lasted less than 4 minutes.
The contract states the building, which be built on vacant land behind the school, must be completed by Oct. 31.
