Alfred Huegel, age 89, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Swanton Health Care. Prior to his retirement he had served within the banking industry in both Monroe, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio.
Alfred was born in Detroit, MI on March 24, 1929, the son of Alfred and Johanna (Triffo) Huegel, Sr. On February 13, 1965, he married Patricia Prodan, and she preceded him in death in 2017. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Toledo. He had worked as a mail carrier for Ford Motor Company, a teller at Monroe State Savings Bank, Program Director for WMIC Radio Station in Monroe, MI, Sales Representative for Monroe Auto Equipment Co., Purchasing Agent for Weis Manufacturing Co., Assistant Personnel Officer for the former First National Bank of Toledo, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for United Home Federal, Director of Educational Records of AIB (American Institute of Banking) Students for Southwest Michigan and Northwest Ohio, served four years in AIB as President at First National Bank, and had earned a General Degree from AIB.
Surviving is daughter Nicole (Shaun) Nitschke of Delta; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Marion Fischer and Ruth Charlesworth.
Visitation for Alfred will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3934 West Laskey Road, Toledo, OH. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 P.M., with Pastor Bradford Scott, officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com.
