In the heart of Alvordton, the firetrucks weren’t the only things drawing attention this weekend.
On Saturday June 14th, the Alvordton-Millcreek Township Fire Department fired up the grills for one of the community’s most anticipated traditions: the annual chicken BBQ.
Held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the fire hall in downtown Alvordton, the event offered both dine-in and drive-thru options, making it a convenient and easy way for residents to support their local fire-fighters.
Meals were just $13 and packed with flavor, featuring a half-chicken, baked beans, potato salad, a roll, and much more.
Volunteers and fire crew alike worked shoulder to shoulder, some at the grill, others at the window, all with a smile.
With Father’s Day just around the corner, families gathered early to celebrate dad with comfort food and hometown pride.
