American Cancer Society Relay For Life Will Hold an Open House on November 18th at St. Caspar’s

October 17, 2013Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Fulton County is getting underway; join us at our open house on Monday, November 18th from 6:30p – 8:00p at St. Caspar Church, 1205 N. Shoop Ave., Wauseon.

As participants gather this year to register teams and launch fundraising efforts, they’ll be helping the American Cancer Society redouble its efforts to make this cancer’s last century – not just for members of Fulton County, but around the world.

As the world’s largest grassroots fundraising program, the Relay For Life movement mobilizes friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, service organizations and faith-based groups in communities throughout the country, to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and provide everyone an opportunity to fight back against the disease.

The Society just celebrated its 100th birthday! It is an excellent time to get involved in the Relay For Life of Futon County as a volunteer, Team Captain, or participant, and make a difference this century in the fight against cancer. The Monday, November 18th from 6:30p – 8:00p open house at St. Caspar’s will feature speakers from the community who have benefitted from the funds raised at Relay events and will honor cancer survivors.

For more information about the program, call the Event Co-Chair, Amanda Bird, at (419) 572.1783 or email fultonrelay@gmail.com. Teams can be registered on-line at: www.relayforlife.org/fultoncounty.

The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers saving lives and fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society’s efforts have contributed to a 20 percent decline in cancer death rates in the U.S. since 1991, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks to our progress, nearly 14 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will celebrate more birthdays this year. We just marked our 100th birthday in 2013, we’re determined to finish the fight against cancer. We’re finding cures as the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more. For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, call us anytime, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org
