MARION (February 14, 2026) – Archbold put together quite an effort in the Ohio Wrestling Coaches Association State Dual Meet Tournament at Marion Elgin High School.

Despite coming up short to Apple Creek Waynedale, 38-18, in the championship match, the Bluestreaks finished as runner-up in the eight-team tournament.

The Bluestreaks got off to an impressive start against Versailles in the opening bout and emerged with a dominating 58-14 victory over the Tigers.

Brooks Miller (113), Ty Bosco (120), Layne Miller (150), Ashton Stuckey (165), Hunter Warner (190), Isidro Hernandez (215), and Parker Bixler (285) all recorded pins for the Bluestreaks. Isaac Brown (132) and Kayden Wellman (144) both won by technical fall.

In the semifinal round, Archbold faced a very tough Mentor Lake Catholic squad and the Bluestreaks pulled off a huge 35-31 upset against one of the top Division III powerhouses.

With the Bluestreaks trailing 31-29 entering the 285-pound match, Parker Bixler recorded a second period fall over Alfred Antonelli in 2:41 to pull it out for Archbold.

Bixler was one of three Archbold wrestlers to record pins against Lake Catholic. Jayden Booth (157) and Stuckey (165) both posted falls in the match.

In the championship match, Archbold faced top-seeded Waynedale and the Bluestreaks managed just one pin, with Brooks Miller scoring a fall over Landen Hasseman in 3:17 at 113 pounds. Brenden Bosco (106), Stuckey (165), Warner (190), and Bixler (285) all won by decision.

Delta also competed and ended up with a fifth place finish, edging out Versailles, 38-30, in that match.

The Panthers got pins from Tyler Barnes (126), Marcus Nagel (175), and Malachi Ambriz (215), while Luke Spiess (132) and Gunner Taylor (165) won by technical fall.

Delta faced Barnesville in a first round match, and the Panthers were nipped 34-33 by the Shamrocks.

Barnes, Spiess, and Brady Smith (285) all recorded pins for Delta. Lane Lopez (157) won by technical fall, and Taylor won by major decision.

Delta then faced Massillon Tuslaw in a consolation semifinal round bout, and the Panthers prevailed with a convincing 64-12 victory.

Barnes, Spiess, Thomas Hernandez (138), Marcus Nagel (175), Wyatt Flickinger (190), and Ambriz all recorded pins against Tuslaw.

Apple Creek Waynedale finished as champion, followed by Archbold, Barnesville, Lake Catholic, Delta, Versailles, Miami East, and Tuslaw in the eight-team dual tournament.

Archbold and Delta will now focus on the Northwest Ohio Athletic League wrestling tournament. The event takes place on Saturday at Swanton High School. Both teams, along with Liberty Center, are among the favorites to win this year’s tourney title.
