The Archbold Village Council convened on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The session opened with standard business items, beginning with the approval of the November 17, 2025, council minutes.

Council also reviewed and authorized payment of bills and payroll totaling $634,739.69.

Council proceeded to legislative matters, including Resolution 2025-23. The measure accepts a bid from Storch Farms, LLC, for the rent of approximately 153 acres of village-owned farm ground.

No price increase has been reported since 2016. The new bid received was presented by a new farmer, with a 30% increase included.

The resolution authorizes the Village Administrator Aaron Alt and Director of Finance Kathy Rupp to contract accordingly and was declared an emergency.

A separate motion addressed the Fulton County Budget Commission’s apportionment of the Undivided Local Government Fund. Under this measure, the subdivision waives any hearing before the commission pursuant to Section 5757 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC).

It agrees to the alternate pan of apportionment based on need and prior years’ allocation. The motion accepts the subdivision’s share for the 2026 year.

The document also notes that the local government revenue estimate is provided by the Ohio Department of Taxation and remains subject to change during the state budgeting process.

A review of the November 2025 income tax and Fire 2026 Budget Review Meeting was held. The income tax was noted to be down by 2.9%, however the Administrator Alt noted that the previous year was significant in terms of business.

Considering this, the council is confident to meet numbers and exceed what they budgeted already.

Before adjourning, several upcoming sessions were noted, including the Finance Committee Budget Review at 5:00 p.m. on December 8, 2025.

The next regular council meeting is set for December 15 at 5:30 p.m., at which the final budget will be read and approved. Additionally, a trustee meeting is scheduled for December 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
