A celebration of creativity and community took center stage at the Black Swamp Arts Center as the organization hosted a new juried art exhibit, titled Art Without Bounds.
The multimedia show features a wide array of artistic techniques and materials, brought together by artists from across the region, including Paulding, Van Wert, Napoleon, and even as far as Indianapolis.
The exhibition includes a selection of award-winning pieces, all hand-picked by a panel of judges from submissions entered by regional artists.
While some juried follow a central theme, Art Without Bounds embraced a more open concept, encouraging artists to explore freely across different media.
Many of the works were available for purchase, with a portion of sales supporting the Black Swamp Arts Center through commission.
This marks the fifth exhibit held in the Center’s current location, a renovated storefront that now serves as a vital creative hub.
For more than 40 years, the Black Swamp Arts Center has supported visual arts across the community, offering inclusive programming for children, adults, and individuals with special needs.
The upgraded facility houses classroom space, a ceramics studio capable of firing on-site ceramics, and dedicated areas for exhibitions. Classes range from painting and watercolors to stained glass and more, all led by experienced art educators.
Center Director Hope Wallace noted that planning is already underway for the next major show. Fiberforum 2025 will open on August 14 and is expected to feature around 100 fiber art pieces.
The exhibit will include both local and regional artists, including some who have previously displayed their work at the Ohio Designer Craftsman Museum.
With Art Without Bounds currently on display and Fiberforum 2025 on the horizon, the Black Swamp Arts Center continues to fulfill its mission as a regional cornerstone for artistic expression and education.
