The female Athlete of the Week is Montpelier softball player Madelyn Hopper. In wins over Pettisville and Edon last week, Hopper tossed 10 innings giving up just five hits with 24 strikeouts and passed 500 career strikeouts in the win over Pettisville. At the plate she totaled seven hits and drove in six runs in the two games combined.
