LIBERTY CENTER – Proof of how tough the competition is in District 1 of Liberty Center Division III was made more than evident on October 20. The D-III District postseason event in District 1 featured two prominent programs in Fayette and Hilltop. When the dust settled, only Madeline Routhier of Hilltop emerged as a survivor to qualify for the October 27 Tiffin Regionals. In the District 2 event, the Stryker Panthers and the Hilltop Cadets took the field, with the Cadets being a man short for the team competition. A $4,900 bill that was sent to a Holiday City resident was the subject of discussion at the Thursday, October 17 council meeting. Ron Keil, Sr., a founding father of Holiday City and a 12-year past council member was present with attorney John Shaffer, who identified himself as both a “friend” and legal representative for Mr. Keil.
