Archbold, OH – On Thursday, January 28 a “Barn Gives Back” event will be held to support the 150th Anniversary Celebration of Archbold. Community members are encouraged to enjoy a meal at the Barn Restaurant where a portion of the day’s proceeds will be used to fund the development of a special Archbold History Exhibit at Sauder Village.

“We look forward to having many people from the community join us on January 28 to enjoy a delicious meal together and help support this new local history exhibit,” shared Kris Jemmott, Archbold 150th Anniversary Committee Member and Director of Historic Village Operations. “We share stories of Northwest Ohio history every day at Sauder Village and we are pleased to have the opportunity to tell this very local history story in celebration of Archbold’s Sesquicentennial.”

Members of the 150th Anniversary Committee will be at the Barn Restaurant throughout the day on January 28 to answer questions about plans for the sesquicentennial celebration as well as the new Archbold History Exhibit. Families and friends are encouraged to enjoy a delicious, home-style meal together under the hand-hewn timbers of the historic Barn Restaurant or even enjoy a carry-out meal to help support this worthy cause. Call the Barn Restaurant at 419.445.2231 to order the Thursday “Take Home Dinner” featuring Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, dinner rolls and salad.

To help create this special exhibit, Sauder Village curators are also requesting the help of people from the Archbold community. If you have stories to share, old photos, interesting artifacts or anything else that may be of interest for this special exhibit, please contact Tracie Evans, Curator of Collections, at 419.446.2541 or tevans@saudervillage.org

Make plans to gather with others in the community on January 28 to enjoy a delicious meal in support of Archbold’s unique history and heritage! The Barn Restaurant is located at 22611 State Route 2 just north of Archbold.
