BBC’s Pettisville, Edon, Stryker Advance To Round 2 In Division IV Sectional Play

MONTPELIER:  May 10-It was a clean sweep on the day for the BBC in the first round of D IV Sectional play on May 10, with the Pettisville Blackbirds, Edon Bombers, and Stryker Panthers coming out of day 1 with impressive victories.

Pettisville paired up with in conference rival Hilltop and posted a statement 11-2 victory over the Cadets. The Blackbirds will travel to Tinora to take on the state -ranked Rams out of the Green Meadows Conference.  The Rams currently sit at number 2 in Division IV.  The game will take place at the Tinora High School Athletic Complex and will begin at 5:00 p.m.

The Edon Bombers advanced with a dominate performance on May 10 over the Montpelier Locomotives in a 10-0 shutout to advance to round two play.  Edon will travel to in conference foe North Central on May 14 for a showdown with the state ranked Eagles.  North Central currently sits at number 13 in the latest poll; the Eagles received a 1st round bye and will open Sectional play on their home diamond at 5:00 p.m.

The Stryker Panthers came out on top in a low scoring affair with the Antwerp Archers, but behind the strong arm of Parker Ruffer, the Panthers were able to advance and will face powerhouse Ayersville on May 14 on the Pilots home field.   Ayersville is state-ranked, currently sitting at number 12.  The game will take place at the Pilots Athletic Complex and will begin at 5:00 p.m.
