The Cancer Assistance of Williams County held its annual “Bike to the Bridge” fundraiser on August 3rd, 2024. Bikers of all skills and ages conversed at the Williams County Community offices/East Annex 1425 E. High St. Bryan, Ohio.

This location served as a starting and ending point for the fundraiser. Registration began at 7:30 am and bike riders departed promptly at 8:30 am after a prayer and memorial shout-outs.

Participants had three different bike ride options depending on skill level and preference. With a $35 entry fee, the fifty-mile ride takes bike riders on a scenic route to Lockport Bridge, through Goll Woods, onto Oxbow Lake in Defiance County, and then back to Bryan. Participants looking for a shorter ride, the twenty-five-mile ride, costing $25, also goes to Lockport Bridge and then returns to Bryan.

Participants and families may opt for the five-mile or ten-mile ride, which travels to Parkersburg Wildlife Area and back. This ride costs $10 per person or $25 for a family of three or more.

The event introduced the Kids Ride & Learn Event. This event educates children about safety while having fun. It includes deputy safety, an obstacle course, and the chance to win prizes. The community is encouraged to participate or sponsor bike riders for this annual fundraising event to ” Be the Bridge” for those in our communities affected by Cancer.
