ARCHBOLD (February 10, 2026) – In a game that featured momentum swings from start to finish, the Archbold Bluestreaks delivered the final blow. They sank a buzzer-beating shot to edge the Stryker Panthers in a thrilling non-league showdown.

The first quarter saw a multitude of Bluestreaks contribute in the scoring column, as Morgan Harris knocked down a quick three-pointer and Tripp Langenderfer followed with a jumper to give Archbold an early 5-0 advantage.

Stryker responded with an and-one from Bradley Williams, but Archbold continued to find offense. Maddox Pinter added a pair of buckets to help the Bluestreaks build a 10-3 lead midway through the first quarter.

The two sides continued to trade blows, as Stryker’s Andrew Batterson and Archbold’s Harrison Wyse each connected from beyond the arc for their respective teams. Langenderfer then added a pair of free throws, pushing the Bluestreaks’ lead to 15-7 late in the first quarter.

The quarter closed in dramatic fashion, as Aranjer Krieger beat the buzzer with a layup to give the Bluestreaks a commanding 20-9 lead at the end of the first.

The Bluestreaks looked to build on their lead to start the second quarter, as Krieger opened the frame with another layup. Stryker quickly answered on the other end, however, with a layup from Batterson.

Stryker continued to chip away at the deficit, getting field goals from Williams and William Donovan to trim the margin to 22-16 midway through the second quarter.

The remainder of the half featured balanced scoring from both sides, with Stryker’s Cody Stewart adding his name to the scoring column.

The teams traded baskets down the stretch, and Stewart capped the half with a buzzer-beater of his own, sending Archbold into the break with a 31-26 lead.

The start of the third quarter saw Archbold looking to extend their lead as the Bluestreaks came out strong, clearly well-prepared by Head Coach Joe Frank for the second half.

Harris opened the half with a pair of free throws, and Langenderfer followed with a three-pointer to push the Bluestreaks’ lead to 36-29 early in the third.

Collin Short added a basket of his own, and Langenderfer followed with a layup to stretch the Bluestreaks’ lead to 40-29 midway through the third quarter.

The middle of the third quarter featured another stretch of back-and-forth action, as both teams exchanged baskets. Donovan found his groove offensively, scoring multiple times in the period to keep Stryker within striking distance.

Pettisville Grain

Although Archbold built a 10-point lead with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Stryker refused to go away. Stewart scored on back-to-back possessions, trimming the deficit to five heading into the fourth.

The Panthers treated the start of the fourth as their chance to turn the game into a dogfight, striking quickly with baskets from Capps and Williams. The surge trimmed Archbold’s lead to 49-48 early in the final quarter.

Short knocked down a pair of free throws to extend Archbold’s lead, but the cushion was short-lived. Williams answered immediately with a three-pointer, knotting the game at 51.

Free throws from Archbold’s Wyse and Stryker’s Stewart were exchanged on the ensuing possessions, keeping the game deadlocked at 53 apiece.

Nova Steel

Stryker took its first lead of the night when Donovan converted a free throw, but Krieger answered with one of his own to pull the Bluestreaks even once again.

Free throws continued to be exchanged throughout the closing minutes, with both teams in the bonus and every trip to the line carrying added weight. Each missed opportunity loomed large.

Donovan converted one of his two late free throws to give Stryker (10-11) the one point lead, leaving Archbold with one final possession to decide the game.

With 13 seconds remaining, Archbold (13-6) inbounded the ball and worked it around to Pinter on the wing.

Pinter let a three-pointer fly, but it drifted left off the mark. Wyatt Gericke crashed the boards and got a hand on the offensive rebound, but it was tipped free in the scramble.

The loose ball ultimately found its way into Langenderfer’s hands, and in one fluid motion, he gathered and put it back up as the buzzer sounded.

The shot dropped, sealing a dramatic 58-57 victory for Archbold over Stryker.

STRYKER (57) – Donovan 21; Stewart 11; Williams 10; Batterson 8; Capps 7; Totals: 15-6-9 – 57
ARCHBOLD (58) – Langenderfer 16; Wyse 9; Harris 9; Krieger 7; Pinter 7; Rufenacht 4; Short 4; Gericke 2; Cline 0; Totals: 14-5-15 – 58
