The Pettisville Schools Organizational meeting was held at 7 a.m. on January 7, 2021 with last year’s president, Brent Hoylman, calling the meeting to order and conducting elections. He also presented “exemplary leadership certificates of appreciation” to members of the Board of Education.

The Board re-elected Brent Hoylman as President and Brent King as Vice President. The VP will continue to serve as legislative liaison to Ohio School Board’s Association.
The following thirteen items were approved:

•Board member stipend is set at $50 per meeting up to a maximum of 24 meetings per year.

•Board members may receive a stipend of $60 per day for attendance at sessions three hours or less and $125 for sessions longer than three hours when such sessions are sponsored by support organizations (Including but not limited to OSBA, BASA, OASBO, ODE, OSFC, NwOESC, State Auditor, and PLS) relating to education and public schools.

•Meeting time for the board is set at 7:00 PM on the second Monday of the month. The November meeting will be the first Monday of the month. Summer meetings (June, July, and August) will start at 8 PM.

•The treasurer bond will be continued at $50,000.

•The board service fund is set at $4,500. This fund supports board member attendance at conferences and costs as well as attendance at seminars and other meetings.

•The Pettisville Local Board of Education authorizes participation in all appropriate federal title programs, including ESSA, the REAP program and any other federal programs for which we may qualify.

•The board assigns the following duties to the superintendent, in addition to the traditional duties noted in the job description: Purchasing agent, Title IX Coordinator, and Asbestos Designated Person.
