Work continues on the Brown Road/576 project in the south part of Montpelier. According to Supervisor of Administrative Services Kurt Roan, ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) crews are working on the storm drains at the present time, and barring continued rain delays, will be starting on constructing sidewalks soon.

The project includes Brown Road from Maplehurst to Platt Streets, and Maplehurst (576) from Brown Road to the Southwest Subdivision. The town has received funding from the federal government under the Safe Route to School program so that students walking to school will no longer have to walk by the side of the road. This part of project is being managed by the state through an ODOT bid. Crews are pushing for a completion date of June 1, 2013.
