The Bryan Board of Public Affairs meeting began with the approval of the December 5, 2023 meeting as written. Present were members Dick Long, Jim Salsbury, Annette Schreiner, Karen Ford, and Tom Sprow.

The clerk / treasurer’s report was then accepted as presented before Resolution 28-2023, which approved an advertisement for bids on tillable acres, was approved. This authorizes Schultz to enter into an agricultural lease agreement for the land at the North Industrial Park.

A resolution was then adopted giving a 3% wage adjustment and equity adjustments effective January 1.

Power plant employee Kevin Douglas was then reclassified, and the BPA congratulated him on his promotion, thanking him for his fantastic work.

The bills were then approved as presented before Mr. Schultz recognized Nate Gardner, BMU retiree, for his earning the AMP Distinction Award, and the distinction of being an honorary member of the OMEA.

Mayor Schlade let the BPA know that the budget was approved as presented, as well as updated them on the happenings of the last council meeting.

Congratulations were given to Gardner and Douglas and well wishes were given to Bryan City Council member Judy Yahraus on her next adventure. Everyone wished everyone a Merry Christmas before the BPA entered executive session after a short recess.
