Bryan Kiwanis Club Learns About Johnny Appleseed & Welcomes New Member

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH At the Kiwanis Meeting on April 172024 the club welcomed Bryan High School Students of the Month for May 2024 Allison Vashaw left and Ella Vansteenkiste These students are chosen by the faculty not only for their academic accomplishments but also for their participation in extracurricular activities They shared with the group their most memorable high school experience as well as their plans for college in the fall

HISTORY LESSON At the weekly Kiwanis meeting on April 172024 the guest speaker was Denver Henderson who spoke about the life and history of John Chapman also known as Johnny Appleseed His topic was chosen to commemorate the upcoming Arbor Day observance He told the group about the actual man and his achievements versus the myths we all grew up hearing about

NEW MEMBER The Kiwanis Club of Bryan welcomed Cheryl Chapman a Bryan native as a new member to the club on April 172024 She was inducted and is pictured with her sponsor Tim Foster
