According to a press release from the Bryan Police Department, on December 1, 2024, at approximately 9:30 PM, they received information that Zachary Chervenka, age 32, from Butler, Indiana, was reported to have an active arrest warrant and was seen at Bryan Walmart.

Officers confirmed the warrant and attempted to make contact with Mr. Chervenka. During the encounter, Mr. Chervenka entered his vehicle and fled the scene with two children inside.

While officers pursued the vehicle, an infant was ejected from the moving car, although this was not observed by officers at the time. Due to hazardous weather conditions and high speeds, the pursuit was terminated.

Both children have since been located. The infant was transported to Toledo Hospital for further evaluation and is currently reported to be in fair condition.

Mr. Chervenka remains at large. He is described as a 32-year-old Caucasian male, 5’6″ tall, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are pursuing leads related to this incident. The City of Bryan Police Department is requesting community assistance in locating Mr. Chervenka and extends gratitude to the citizens who have assisted thus far.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Zachary Chervenka is urged to contact the Bryan Police Department at 419-633-6050.
