RENOVATION DETAILS … The Bryan Rotary Club welcomed Dave Swanson who spoke about his renovation project on the Square in Bryan. Swanson, a native of Michigan, came to Bryan in 1977 and in 1981, he founded The Daavlin Company, which he recently sold. Swanson bought the historic three story Long Building on the north side of the square with plans to renovate it. The building was constructed 1869-1871 and predates the Williams County Courthouse. Dos Eppi’s and Zazarac’s, eating establishments are in two of the storefronts. Renovations to the building continue and have been tedious with attention to authenticity. Swanson has purchased property behind the building to provide for parking. Future plans include installing an elevator, 14-room hotel and third floor ballroom.
