A Bryan woman is being held in the Wood County Jail following an alleged escape attempt at the Northwest Community Corrections facility in Bowling Green on Tuesday, February 24.
According to reports, Trisha Lane, 40, was being held at the corrections center on East Gypsy Lane Road for a probation violation tied to an original charge of possession of drugs. Authorities stated she had recently returned from furlough and failed a urine drug test.
Bowling Green Police Department and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded to the facility around 9 p.m. after Lane reportedly dismantled a ceiling vent in a bathroom. It was initially unclear whether she had left the building or remained inside.
A search of the roof revealed no disturbed vents. Deputies then accessed the ceiling area from inside the facility and removed ductwork, where Lane was found hiding in a mechanical space.
She was removed without incident and transported to the Wood County Jail, where she is charged with escape.
