FAYETTE 4/28/2014—The Hilltop Cadets cruised to a BBC victory, defeating Fayette by a score of 19-0.
The Cadets racked up a team total of 18 hits in the the contest from nine different players, including home runs off the bats of Mocherman and Coffman. Mochermann was responsible for 4 of the 19 runs batted in for the Cadets. Suboski was on the mound for Hilltop, going six innings, not giving up a run, only allowing five hits, striking out six Eagle batters, and not allowing a single walk. She threw 77 pitches in total, with 59 of those finding the strike zone.
Fayette’s offense was not up to par in the match-up, as they were only able to furnish 5 hits in six innings. Their defense also cost them, as they had eight fielding errors in the game.Bussing picked up the loss, giving up 10 earned runs in six innings of work, striking out four, and walking four batters. Bussing threw 132 pitches in the contest, 79 of which were strikes.
For Hilltop, Crisenbery, A. Schmitt, Bleikamp, Mocherman, Chapin, Coffman, Yates, Joost, and S. Schmitt all had a hit.
As for the Eagles, Brudaker, West, Bussing, Galloway, and Keller were able to find base safely with hits.
