Angola, Ind. – Cameron Memorial Community Hospital recognized three of its Auxiliary members at its annual Appreciation Luncheon recently. Marilyn Carney, Cec Shultz and Fran VanWagner were all honored for their outstanding service to the organization. “These three individuals have gone above and beyond in their commitment and service to the Auxiliary and to the hospital,” said Vicki Harris, Cameron Auxiliary Coordinator. Honorary members are nominated by the President and/or the Board of Directors for continuing exemplary service to the Auxiliary and the hospital as active members.
Marilyn Carney joined the group in 1997 and volunteered at the surgical desk for many years before moving to the Regional Cancer Care Center where she has welcomed patients for the past thirteen years. “I know these people and it’s nice for them to see a familiar face at a difficult time,” said Carney. Cec Shultz joined the Auxiliary in 2006 and immediately jumped into the role of treasurer of the organization. Over the years, Shultz has computerized the group’s finances and that of the gift shop, and helped the leaders of the organization invest their money in wise and beneficial ways. These investments have helped enable the Auxiliary to contribute to the building fund of the new hospital. Fran VanWagner joined the Auxiliary in 1997 and has been a fixture at the hospital ever since. VanWagner volunteers at the Outpatient and Surgical desks as well as in the Cameron gift shop. She also works with the hospital staff in planting and up keeping the beautiful flower gardens around the hospital each year.
Each member was recognized with a certificate and a gift from the organization.
