(June 10th, 2015) – PETTISVILLE: Through five innings of play, Pettisville found themselves deadlocked with a strong Liberty Center squad in a 7-7 affair.  With just two innings to go, the contest looked as though it would come down to the very last swing of the bat.

Then the sixth inning happened.

The Lady Tigers offense erupted in the top half of the inning, ripping of run after run as they pulled away from their hosts.  By the bottom of the sixth, the Blackbird girls were faced with a 14 run deficit.  While attempting to mount a comeback, the steep differential proved too much to overcome.

Pettisville lost to Liberty Center 21-8.

Despite the loss, the Lady Blackbirds still had a couple of strong performers against their guests from Henry County.  Sydney Purtee racked up a pair of singles, which led to her driving in 2 RBIs.  Her teammate, Jasmyn Barton, earned a double with her bat as well.
