Catherine Ann DeWulf, 69, of Fayette, died early Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013, at her home, following a battle with Lymphoma. She was born July 7, 1944, in Boston, MA, to the late Don and Ann (Cierniewski) Bird. She married Edward DeWulf on April 20, 1963, in Fayette, and he survives.
Cathy lived her early life in Michigan, and moved to Fayette at age 12, where she later graduated from Gorham Fayette High School, Class of 1962. She was employed at the former Fayette Tubular Products for 22 years, followed by twelve years of service as a clerk for the Fulton County License Agency of the Ohio BMV in Wauseon. Following retirement she spent her time enjoying her hobbies of crafting, scrapbooking, and reading. Most especially, she enjoyed the company of her beloved grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ed, are their daughter, Teresa (Rick) Bacon of Bryan, OH; sons, Michael DeWulf (and Shannon Baltosser) of Stryker, OH, and Bradley (Kristi) DeWulf of Bryan; brothers, Don (Diane) Bird Jr., Jim (Mary) Bird, Charles Bird, and Paul (Cheryl) Bird; a sister, Pat Dulaney; four grandchildren, Adam Bacon, Rachel (Nick) Evans, Collin Bacon, and Teah Lower; and a new great-granddaughter, Carly Marie Evans.
In accordance with Cathy’s wishes, cremation will take place, and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette with Pastor Joe Redmond officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place a later date at the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
