Boys Cross Country

Area teams competed in the Defiance Early Bird Invite. One of the teams competing was the Montpelier Locomotives. The Locomotives ran to a 10th place finish of the 17 teams competing. Following are the team’s runners in order of finish: Jared Rediger (16th, 17:59 –medal winner), Alec Waterson (63rd, 19:54), William Belknap (65th, 19:58), Austin Miller (67th, 20:05), Michael Blake (70th, 20:10), Kolden Uribes (81st, 20:26), Brandon Eitniear (106th, 21:12), Bradey Clair (119th, 21:42), Daniel Banks (131st, 22:09), Tre Hutchinson, (132nd, 22:12), Nate Hutchinson (156th, 22:59). Pettisville had four finishers including: Ben Gray, (41st, 18:58), Logan Rufenacht (46th, 19:08), Caleb Nolander (71st, 20:13), Evan Warner (88th, 20:39).

Girls Cross Country

The Pettisville Blackbirds ran to a runner up finish in the 18-team field at Defiance. Alexa Leppelmeier won the race with a time of 20:16. Nichole Foor finished an impressive fifth place in 21:06. Other finishers for Pettisville included: Morgan Leppelmeier (16th, 22:00), Kelly Miller (31st, 22:55), Kate Stuber (37th, 23:24), Sarah Foor (72nd, 25:05), Sarah Herring (82nd, 25:25), Krystine Davis (109th, 26.39) and Katie Hauter (165th, 34:14). The Finishers for Montpelier girls, who finished seventh in the 18 team field race at Defiance, included: Jacqueline Carlson (10th, 21:33 – top 10 t-shirt winner), Kimme Engels (22nd, 22:39-medal winner), Brinn Miller (50th, 23:55), Lydia Grime (92nd, 25:57), MaryJoe McBride (166th, 34:45).
