(Member Of Crossroads Evangelical Church)
David A. “Dave” Garbers, age 58, of Wauseon, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1965 to Luther Paul and Kathryn Jane (Havens) Garbers in Wauseon and his mother, Kathryn survives.
Dave was a graduate of Wauseon High School where he played the tuba in the high school band. He enjoyed the dirt track races at Oak Shade and one of his ultimate passions was the sawmill that he started with his father, Luther and brother, Marty.
When farming slowed down in the early years for Dave, he was instrumental in creating the idea of starting the sawmill. He married the love of his life Brenda, on October 19, 2002 in Deshler, Ohio.
Throughout his life Dave has always had a deep, abounding faith in God. He was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church where he attended Men’s Bible Study.
He and Brenda truly enjoyed the fellowship of the church. One characteristic Dave will be remembered for was that he was a quiet man who always seemed to get a good zinger in!
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Fuhrhop) Garbers; mother, Kathryn; siblings, Cindy Mohr, Thomas Cunningham, Martin (Michele) Garbers; precious nieces, nephews, and great-nephews; many cousins and a loving church family at Crossroads.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther; sister, Debra Frontz; niece, Kadance Garbers and sister-in-law, Sandy Cunningham.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Crossroads Evangelical Church, 845 E. Leggett St., Wauseon, OH 43567. The family will also receive guests on Tuesday in the church from 10-11:00 a.m. with Dave’s Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Strader and Associate Pastor Dan Allen.
