David K. “Dave” Reckner, age 62, of Wauseon, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born on January 21, 1958 in Wauseon to Ralph Wayne and Iva Gene (Rathbun) Reckner.
Dave graduated from Evergreen High School and attended Four-County Career Center where he homed in on his diesel mechanic skill – which he was well known for later in life.
Aside from being a great diesel mechanic, he was best known for being an arm wrestler, cruising in his golf cart and fishing with his dog, Diego. He and Diego would ride on the golf cart to the local pond and fish, enjoy the scenery, nature and sketch.
Dave was a simple man, enjoyed leading a private life and spending time with his extended family. And cannot forget to mention his love for attending the National Thrashers Convention along with the Fulton Co. Fair.
He is survived by his siblings, Ralph (Jackie) Reckner, Bruce Reckner, Jim (Teresa) Reckner, Laurie Anne Pleasant and Eric (Joanna) Reckner; extended family, Lisa Dickman and her children, Taylor (Robert) Gilliland, Peyton (David Bell) Dickman, Michael, Samantha and Hayden Dickman; great nieces and nephew who called him “Big Dave,” Adalynn Bell, Braxton Bell, Reagan Gilliland and Zaylee Bell; cousin, Danny Wiebeck; pups, Jazz and Diego and dear friends, Larry and Sue Wilson; Bernard and Diana Mock and Bob King. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services will be limited to the immediate family.
