David Gallutia (1947 – 2024)

David Lynn Gallutia, 76, passed away August 28th, 2024 at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee. He was born on December 18, 1947, in Bloomington, Indiana to Charles W. and Virginia (Tingler) Gallutia.

Dave grew up on a farm between Alvordton and Pioneer, Ohio. He graduated from North Central High School in Pioneer in 1965.

After high school he attended college at General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.


He began work for General Motors in Defiance, Ohio as a College Cooperative Student, and after graduation, an Industrial Engineer.

In addition to Defiance, he worked in Saginaw, Michigan, Danville, Illinois, Madison Heights, Michigan, Spring Hill, Tennessee and Wilmington, Delaware before retiring in 2008 after 43 years.

Dave married Karen Oxender on June 22, 1968 in Kunkle, Ohio. They were happily married for 56 years. Dave was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.


He is survived by his wife Karen of Pleasant View, Tennessee; son Brian (Brandie) Gallutia of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and their children Zander and Braeden; son Kelly Gallutia of Pleasant View, Tennessee and his children, Jordan (Nathan) Dubach, Kerstin (Josh) Leighton, Aaron, Andrew and Kathryn; brothers Michael (Rachel) Gallutia of Okemos, Michigan; Scott (Melissa) Gallutia of Bucyrus, Ohio; Val (Linda) Gallutia of Nicholasville, Kentucky; sister Julie Gallutia of Lexington, Kentucky; and great grandchildren Emmalynn & Conley Dubach. Dave was preceded in death by his father and mother.

A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be determined. Burial will be at Schiffler Cemetery in Pulaski, Ohio.
