Debra “Deb” Jean Swank, age 74, of Edon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio.
She was born September 28, 1950 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Robert and Jermaine (Zachrich) Goldenetz. She married Danny Lloyd Swank on September 28, 1968 and he survives.
Deb was a wonderful wife, mother and nana. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Edon, Ohio. She devoted her time to her husband and children.
Deb was proud of her work she did to help found a Girl Scout Troop in Edon and served as a Girl Scout leader. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cheering for them at their sporting events.
Survivors include, her husband, Danny of Edon, Ohio, her children, Jamie (Gordy) Peppler, of Howe, Indiana, Jennifer (Chad) Schroeder, of Erie, Colorado, her grandchildren, Riley (Cole) Mulzer, Regan Peppler and Fiancé, Dekahri Jones, Reace Peppler and boyfriend, Joel McCurdy, Ethan Schroeder, her brother Fred (Sandy) Goldenetz, her sister, Shirley Fraser. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Deb is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Robert Goldenetz, Amy Golovoy, and Connie Miller.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Edon, Ohio. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Deacon Jean Wise will officiate. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Funeral luncheon will be served in the church following the interment services. Serving as pallbearers: Bill Swank, Rodger Scott Swank, Jeremy Altaffer, Kevin Hantz, Adam Golovoy, David Golovoy, Jim Kozumplik.
In lieu of flowers and other mementos, the Swank family requests memorial contributions be made to: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Edon, Ohio.
