The Delta Chamber of Commerce held their Party in the Park event last weekend. The event took place on Friday, August 2nd, and was held in the Delta Municipal Park. The event went from 5:00 p.m. until midnight and featured food vendors, bounce houses, live music, and a cornhole tournament.

Kirsten Fruchey of the Delta Chamber explained that this is the first year the event has operated under this name.

Previously, the event was known as Dancing in the Streets but was changed. This year also saw three bands perform, with those bands being Middle Aged Arcade, Mediocre Mix Tape, and Noisy Neighbors.

Beer, wine, and mixed vodka drinks were also available, in addition to the food vendors that were on site. A corn hole tournament was also held at 6:00 p.m., with the winner set to receive $150 Chamber bucks.

This year, the event also featured a 50/50 raffle designed to benefit Marky Bollinger. According to the Chamber, Jennifer Bollinger (a long-time music teacher at PDY Schools), recently lost her 17-year-old son Marky. This 50/50 was put together to honor Marky’s “legacy of love, joy, and being a superhero”.

CORNHOLE … A cornhole tournament took place during this year’s Party in the Park event put on by the Delta Chamber. Several teams competed to win either a first-place prize worth 150 Chamber Bucks or a second-place prize worth 75 chamber bucks.
