Donna Nagel (1930 – 2018)

Donna M. Nagel, age 87 of Wauseon, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Fulton Manor Nursing Home in Wauseon.

Donna was born in Henry County on May 21, 1930 to the late Albert and the late Iona (Lulfs) Busch.

On June 24, 1956, she married Leo Nagel, and he preceded her in death in 2007. Prior to her retirement, she worked for may years as a laundry attendant. Donna loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed gospel music, crocheting, sewing, embroidering, shopping with her sisters, and, in her younger years, Polka Dancing.

Donna is survived by her children; Carol Shelt of Delta, Gary Nagel of Wauseon, Cathy (Rick) Baird of Wauseon, Gerry (Mary Jo) Nagel of Wauseon, Connie (Tom Shank) Simon of Bryan, and Greg (Jill Hildreth) Nagel of Wauseon. Also surviving are grandchildren; Michael (Dawne) Nagel, Stephanie (Phil) Spaulding, Heather (Ryan) Hunt, Crystal (Michael) Burkholder, Derrick (Kira) Baird, Cory Baird, Chandra Eickhoff, Ryan Nagel, Casey (Matt) Schmitz, Abbi Nagel, Noah Nagel, Ben Nagel, Dillon Hildreth, and Destiny Hildreth; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Janet Packard, Mary Wiles, and Judy English; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; Jerry Busch, Bill Busch, and Jim Busch; and one sister, Dolores Weber.


Graveside services will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Wauseon Union Cemetery with Pastor Steven Geske, officiating. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a contribution to the American Cancer Society, in Donna’s memory. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.grisierfh.com. The Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
