Dorothy L. Williams, age 94 of Wauseon and formerly of Dayton, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Heartland of Wauseon. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Dorothy was born in Everett, Kentucky on August 8, 1923 to the late Henry Beaver and the late Kate L. (Darling) Beaver. In 1940, she married H. B. “Red” Williams, and he preceded her in death in 1999. Red and Dorothy were blessed with two children Donna (Williams) Reynolds and Patrick Williams; both preceded her in death. She is survived by three granddaughters; Renee (Robert) Reynolds of Richmond, IN, Rebecca (Shawn) Pettit of Napoleon, OH and Meagan Williams of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a great-great-grandchild, Kashton Sutherland.
Dorothy belonged to the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Dayton. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and also loved her family, often being very witty with them, but was extremely devoted to them. Cooking was another passion of hers.
Visitation for Dorothy will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. There will be no funeral services. Entombment will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Forest Hill Memorial Gardens, 11890 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City, Ohio, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.grisierfh.com.
