Dorsie Clifton

Dorsie “Bud” Clifton, age 90 of Delta, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on July 28, 2015 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on March 2, 1925 to the late James Clifton and Emma (Bailey) Clifton.

Bud served during WWII in the U.S Navy as a radioman from 1944 – 1946. On March 8, 1969 he married Ella Dunno and she survives. Bud retired from the U.S Postal Service after many years of service as a mail carrier. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Union Church in Delta. Some of his fondest hobbies were golfing, gardening, tending to his orchard, playing cards and most of all spending quality time with his family.

Along with his wife of 46 years Ella, he is survived by his daughters, Phyllis (Frank) Koczorowski, Pam (Cliff) Macklin, Brenda Stevens, Norma (Ed) Durbin and Mara (Brian) Nadolny; sons, James (Debbie) Clifton, Darren Clifton; grandchildren, Lisa (David) Baer, Robert Clifton, Heather (Lucas) Clifton-Garcia, Shannon (Kevin) Scarberry, Jon (Rebecca) Clifton, Tina (James) Greaney, Nadine (Nathaniel) Koder, Shane (Taylor) Harter, Lilly Harter, Mark Anthony Stevens Jr., Amber Whitney, Elizabeth (Joshua) Rothstein, Samantha Macklin, Alex Nadolny, Emily Clifton, Madi Nadolny, Caleb Macklin and Drew Clifton; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his son, George (Jeri) Clifton; daughter, Nancy Whitney and granddaughter, Lea Clifton-Zamora.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy 109 in Delta. A funeral service celebrating Bud’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 also at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Davis will be officiating. Military rites provided by the Futon County Honor Guard. Interment will be private.
