Sweet treats and small-town charm filled the streets of West Unity on Saturday, November 8, 2025, as the West Unity Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual Cookie Walk.

From 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., participants strolled through downtown businesses, collecting cookies while supporting the local Chamber Scholarship Fund.

The event began at the American Legion, where attendees lined up throughout the streets to purchase tickets for $10 – to receive their cookie container and business list.

Participants then visited each of the 17 local stops to have their cards stamped and collect a cookie. After completing the walk, cards were returned to the Legion by noon to be entered into a prize drawing.

This year’s participating businesses included Ren Hen Country Market, Wyse Guys Pizza, the West Unity Public Library, Handyman Hardware, Klinger Pharmacy, Holly Jolly Christmas Store, Family Dollar, Jacoby’s Ole Smokehouse, Made New Market, Carlos Fades & Cuts, Pete’s Posey Patch, Millcreek Coffee & Cones, Elli Ann’s, AJ Door, Farmer and Merchant’s Bank, the Brady Township Fire Department, and Mayor Don Leu at the White Shelter House in the park.

Alongside the Cookie Walk, the American Legion also served pulled pork and hot creamy chicken sandwiches, chips, and drinks for a free-will donation.

The annual event has become a beloved fall tradition, offering families a chance to explore local businesses, connect with neighbors, and contribute to a good cause.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Chamber’s scholarship fund, which supports area students pursuing higher education.
